Gold coast city council election round up 2012 Mayor & div 6 highlights

It’s been a wild & sometimes naughty sort of election campaign for the candidates for Gold coast city councils election 2012.

For Mayor
We’ve had Peter Young’s balls attacked by a Polar bear and bird life amongst other things. Then after that he was run over by a Bilby and to add insult to injury or pleasure, Peter Young’s face was sat on by a dog.

Lucky the Police do nothing really for things like this, nor is there a charge for aiding disturbing the peace. So lucky TOM TATE wasn’t running for state politics because…

TOM TATE asks GOLD COAST drivers to break law.

The 12-hour blitz of the Gold Coast will take Team Tate from one end of the city to the other.

If you see us, give us a toot!

In the drivers guide it states

you may only use your horn as a warning device.

It appears TOM TATE doesn’t have a drivers licence or doesn’t know the road rules. It may have be an innocent mistake or could be that Tom Tate was thinking of the next spat with Peter Young or has the Guggenheim on the brain still.

For division 6 councillor
Ian Solomon has big Mayoral promises for Parkwood such as freezing wages and rates amongst others. All of which could only be done by the mayor with councillor backing.

Susan Gallagher sent nothing out to constituents. She could be one of your best bets not to break any promises, as she hasn’t made any.

Barry Van Peppen only sent out a vote 1 for me leaflet. Another one that could be one of your best bets not to break any promises, as he hasn’t made any.

Flooding Parkwood 2012 GCCC election day

Flooding Parkwood 2012 GCCC election day

MEANWHILE back on the ranch in Parkwood, incumbent councillor Dawn Crinchlow has left Parkwood up the creek without a paddle. So if there are a lot of missing votes or Dawn if you don’t get voted in, see photo for reason.

This flooding had receded a bit in the 4 hours I had to wait to get the photo but still highlights the need for flood mitigation in Parkwood.

Yes the area flooded a bit like this before Dawn got in as councillor however nothing has been done for Parkwood woes. Waste and chemical problems, broken glass, hoons and the list goes on.

With pundits predicting much the same as the QLD state elections, we will just have to wait and see what survives in the wash on election day 28 April 2012.
